Fuel gauge

2002 V40, Today I fillled up but fuel gauge didnt go up, it tracks mpg
but that is likely a different system. What is likely cause and fix. I
hope it doesnt mean dropping the tank and installing a new pump-float
sender unit. Possibly a fuse or something easy that a hammer can fix
in 5 seconds?
