We have an old volvo thats not being used in a storage location.
I want to get rid of it. It runs, but the battery id DOA and it needs
the gas drained and changed out.

So, what am I up against doing a private party sell to someone who
wants to fix it up? RIght now, its as good as a pile of junk.
Someone who knows, what do I have to do to sell this car for maybe
$400.?

Taxes, procedures, etc. please.

Tracey

If you post the exact model and year, you may get a buyer from this
newsgroup.

great! But, if the car has been sitting for years and is not
registred, insured or inspected, but I have a buyer, and a title, are
there any requirements regarding sale of the vehicle to the buyer
other than signing over the title? What if I need to transfer a title
into my name? Will that add expenses?

Thanks

If the title isn't in your name, things will be more complicated. Your
best bet is to call the DMV and ask.

What a joke that is. The title office of the DMV looks like its run
by a 3rd world country. Its horrible.

Do you have clear title in your name?
I
The Texas DMV would be a far better resource for answers to questions
about how to transfer title in Texas then a new group forum don't you
think???

Can't you do a little research on your own? Like maybe driving down
to the DMV or reading the information in your spare time? I sense a
bit of laziness here...

Lets see...first you want others to do your research. Now you won't
even try to ask a DMV staffer in person. I get the sense you are
looking to jusify inaction on your part!!!
