There are apparently two problems with this.
First, China has to approve the sale. It is seeing internal problems of
its own due to the world economy that is making it shy away from such
moves.
The other problem is that BAIC only makes cars for existing
manufacturers, Hyundai and Mercedes-Benz. It has no brands of its own.
Volvo would be its first brand.
