544 steering linkage

I did a search on steering tie rods and center link ends for 544, 122, 1800. The 122 front wheel track is only .5" wider than a 544 and has a different part# for tie rods (both L and R). Can the 122 tie rods be used on a 544? There seems to be a lot of spares available for the 122 and darn few for the 544.

Clues anyone?
