Winter's here and it's Volvo time. Just think how wonderful heated
seats would feel, and being in something solid, and made in Sweden,
where they know how to handle snow. Or where they know how to make the
car hot as an oven inside. Really, this car is like an oven when you
turn on the heat! It's my third Volvo 700 series I've owned and these
things are fantastic. Well, let's move on from the "heat" part of
things, and more into what the deal is with this car. First off, I am
the third owner of this fine automobile, having purchased it from a
neighbor less than one month ago. It starts up on the first crank like
new! The transmission shifts nice and smooth through all gears, OD
works, the engine doesn't vibrate or make weird noises, and there are
no "clunks" or any funny noises coming from the suspension or
transmission. It cruises down the highway at 65-70 and there's no
steering wheel wiggle. This car actually drives down the highway much
better than my 1993 Volvo 850! Maintenance has been kept up to date
extremely well by the previous owner (who also kept it in the garage!)
    – in fact I have compiled a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet documenting
what has been completed on this car since 1997 and 107,000 miles. I
can place it in an attachment and email it to anyone interested. This
car hasn't been in any accidents requiring body work, or for that
matter any accidents at all. So there's no hidden bodywork.
Additionally, there has been a new headliner installed (Volvos are
infamous for original ones falling apart), and I took the time to
remove the carpets from front and back and clean them professionally,
and look for rust. All clear in that direction! From studying the
service receipts, I can see that this car never was lacking in
attention to detail, and with proper care this automobile will keep on
the road for another 200,000 miles. Even recently, anticipating that
I'd keep this car for quite a long time, I had the rear engine seal
replaced in an effort at preventative maintenance – an expensive
repair in and of itself! One less thing the next owner will have to
worry about! So what are the features on this car? A hand-cranked
sunroof, leather heated front seats, AM/FM cassette system, fold-down
back seats for extra storage, stock roof rack, R134 a/c conversion,
somewhat recently replaced windshield (b/c of dings!), jack and spare
under cargo area, and the Volvo reputation for longevity, durability,
and reliability! I'm a Volvoholic (this was my 4th Volvo) and really
don't want to sell my 740, but for certain reasons I have to. This is
a great well-maintained automobile that speaks for itself, and whoever
gets it I'm sure will not be disappointed.

(This car is also being sold locally, so if it sells here at a price I
deem worthy I reserve the right to end this auction early.)

It's also passed VA emissions inspection into the next year.

    KNOWN ISSUES:

Slightly cracked dash – happens to almost every Volvo this vintage.

Cracked leather on driver's seat – again, very Volvo of this 740.

Little dinks here and there – not very noticeable at all, typical for
    age.

Car shows wear for age – this is not a new car, but a well taken care
    of USED car!

    FREE GIFTS WITH PURCHASE:

    Haynes Manual for Volvo 740

Bentley Manual for Volvo 240 (same engines, transmission as 740)

IPD Timing belt change tool for Volvo 230F engine

    IPD Transmission flush tool/hose

    Lug Wrench

Roadside Assistance kit, jumper cables, etc.

    Assorted extras!

For Volvo fans out there, this has the AW70 transmission as opposed to
the ZF. And the tranny fluid is the right color, and has been changed
    at timely intervals.

    Terms of Sale
