Does anyone know if electronic climate controll on a V40 only exists of the
    frontpanel mounted in the dash.
I other words if i would replace the manual controlpanel by a ECC panel will
    that do the trick.
Or is there a lot more involved.

    Thanks in advance.
    Kind regards Olivier.

ECC system is more than just the control panel in the dash. There are
temperature sensors, solenoid valve, servomotors and other electrical
gadgets behind the dash which detects the current condition inside & outside
the car and automatically regulate accordingly. I am not familiar with the
V40's climate control system, but I just did a manual climate control to ECC
conversion on my 740 not long ago. The whole process took me a week, I had
to pull the whole dashboard out to fit the electrical components as I
mentioned. The 740's ECC has two temperature sensors behind the dash, one
hidden in the dome light, and a solar sensor on the top of the dash. I can
only imagine the V40's ECC being similar, if not more complicated. In short
the conversion is possible, but you have to be determined and prepared.

The V40's ECC has also a solar sensor on the top of the dash (right side) a
compleet unit in the dash and a diferend set of air-filters.
