factory vs. aftermarket brake rotors ('92 240)

I need to get some new rotors for my wife's 240 with 120K miles. I just
need the front ones. Apparantly they hae 10 thou of runout and they
certainly don't feel good!

I can get aftermarket rotors for as little as $24 each. I'd skip those
but the autoparts guy says the top-grade ones at $50 each are great. I
have not priced them at the dealership yet but a local independant that
sells Volvo parts put them at $105 each.

Is it money well spent to get the Volvo part in this case? Or are
aftermarket rotors generally OK?

Also, I've never replaced rotors but when I've done brakes in the past
it's always looked pretty easy. ANy tricks to this job? Do I need to
replace the nice new pads I have on there? (probably under 10K miles on
them)... any special tools reqired?

Thanks!

HELLO!!! The hard work is getting the wheels off, removing the pads,
getting the calipers out of the way!! This is a lot of effort and you are
going to put back USED PADS??? They cost NOTHING!! It takes NO MORE EFFORT
to install NEW pads!!

Do the right thing. Save the effort of having to the job twice when once
will do it!

INSTALL NEW PADS!

Haynes, manual, indeed! sheesh!

The pads have been on there for less than a year... I use good pads that
cost $35... if I can save $35 on the job then that's great.

Otherwise... new pads it is!

Did any of ya'll have any opinion on whether aftermarket rotors are OK
<g>?

Name brand top grade aftermarket rotors should be just fine.
