volvo 460 crossed with a kangaroo!!! please help!!

some one please help!!! my partner owns a 1990/91 460 gle. can some one
please tell me how to stop the car from misfiring? some days the car runs
fine but on others, you can hardly drive the damn thing!! the battery and
alternator were replaced a few months ago to try to cure the problem but
that only worked for a few weeks!! the coil was replaced with a second
hand one about a month ago but made no difference. i`ve been told to say
that its a multi-point injected engine. the car is too good to scrap as
its only done 68,00 miles! please help!

If it run badly on damp days, try the HT leads and distr cap.

Hi, I also own a 460 from 1991 .
it is indeed a multipoint injection kind but mine is a GLi .
Anyhow ,last year it behaved strangly when driving at a speed lower than
90km/h it was a nightmare to drive .
As the people at the Volvo-garage didn't know what it was I finally started
to spray all the rubber tubes with
a hairspray as I suspected a vacuum leak .As a miracle
the problem was solved for about 3 weeks .Then I started too spray the tubes
one by one and finally found
a bent tube on the back of the motor to be the one .
So I made them change the tube and it is still allright.
Maybe You can try this ?
