You forgot the biggest benefit of ATE power discs (or any cross drilled
brake disc) - they look really cool through your alloy rims! The slot
in the rotor surface is supposed to allow the brake pad gas generated
during braking to escape, which should allow better pad to disc
contact. Excess gassing is only a problem when brakes are being used
near their maximum capacity, so with normal street driving you won't see
any benefit.

I would suggest you try the Nivomats with your existing springs, see if
it's too hard for you. If your OK with the ride comfort there's no
other reason to change them.

If you are going to all the trouble of replacing your rear springs etc, why
not go with a performance spring and a KYB or Bilstien shock? For the price
of one Nivomat you can get a full set of shocks...I did my wagon with jamex
springs and KYB GR-2 shocks , and it handles FAR better now, with zero
harshness. Just alot more control.
