How do I read codes?

I was at a parts shop today and they had a OBD I & II code reader with assorted connectors, and they offered to check mine as a courtesy. They went out to the car ('95 850 GLT) but couldn't find where to connect the reader.

Can someone please tell me how to do this? Thanks!

Looked up my VIN, and according to Volvo specs (see Volvo website), my 1995 850 GLT non-turbo should be OBD-II.

Now I'm more confused

Question still stands -- where do I hook up a scan tool to read codes? Thanks for any help!
