The source of the noise has been determined: It is caused my Nextel
cellphone sending out signals, and these signals cause the small speaker
(tweeter) in the driver's front door to make the noise. These signals are
sent out by my cellphone (1) as I move down the highway from one cell tower
to the next cell tower; and (2) when I am receiving an incoming call, my
cellphone emits an inaudible signal communicating with the nearest cell
tower just before my cellphone starts to ring and this signal makes the
noise in the speaker.
The same thing happens occassionally when I leave my cellphone on my desk
near my computer speakers. I called Nextel Tech Support and the TS Rep has
had the same thing happen to him when he puts his Nextel phone on his
nightable next to his clock radio and then gets an incoming call.
