Volvo 280 engine problems

The engine in my 2001 s80 recently died due to improper maintenance by the previous owner. I am trying to find a new motor to put into the car but most of the ones I am finding are the 2.8L turbo charged. The car originally came with a 2.9 non turbo is there anything besides price that would be a difference in putting the turbo charged into the non-turbo model?
