central locking

i can lock my doors with the fob leaving the drivers door unlocked. but sometimes all the four doors are locked with fob . sometimes the fob will not work on any of the doors and I have to use the key. could it be the central locking activator or any other sugestions what it may be.
P.S. I have two fobs both good
