Chipping a S80 D5

I am in the UK and I am about to take delivery of the above car, has any one
any experience of chipping the engine?

A friend of mine has a 54 plate S60 D5 manual which he chipped with a Tuning
Box, having used one on all his previous cars (Passat 130 TDi, Bmw 320D, &
330D x2 193bhp & 203bhp) to great effect..

In the S60 its not exactly slow to begin with, but the 'Box really wakes it
up, with the turbo coming in fully from just over 1500rpm and pulling hard
well past 4000rpm now. There is no smoke whatsoever.

His MPG average has risen from 42 to 45, and he does drive it pretty hard.

Recommended, and essential if you have a XC90 D5 auto, which are sluggish to
the point of being dangerous when pulling away.

etc.or subscribe to "Diesel Car" every four weeks at £3.50 for articles and
adverts.

How do yoou mean?

The new S40 when equiped with the PSA 1.6 110bhp diesel is easily capable of
55mpg driven gently.
