Wipers don't move on '99 s80 t6

It does sound like the motor's running, but no detectable movement.
How does this come apart? I suspect a mechanical problem, but from
what I hear on some other Volvo models, I'm a little apprehensive.

Help! It's raining and if I don't fix it, the wife's going to drive MY
car.
