Aux stereo mini-plug input to HU-611 in 2000 S80 T6?

New to Volvos, and love this car! BUT I wish it had an ordinary
stereo mini-plug for an external device. I don't have an iPod, so
iPod-specific solutions are out. I believe there is an option for a
CD changer, but I do not have one.
I know, I could use an FM transmitter or a cassette adapter (what I'm
using now), but they're noisy! I know that hi-fi in the car seem
silly, what with all the noise from wind, traffic, etc.
Has anyone managed to do this?
Thx!

Check behind the stereo for connections. If it works with a cd changer
it may have an RCA input or similar. If so all you do is run an RCA to
3.5mm stereo socket cable from the back of the stereo, through a gap in
the facia panels and to an accessible location. Put the stereo on the
correct mode and ur done. Failing this you'll just have to buy a new
sound system. You can get some pretty good entry level ones, i picked
one up for $70 australian that had the input i needed. Wiring them up
is quite simple

HU-611 is made by mitsubishi electric and connects to its peripherals, e.g.
cd changers, via a proprietary (MELBUS) network using DIN connectors; there
are no rca plugs on the back of the HU. You will need an adapter that
connects to the melbus and has an aux input with rca connectors. There are
a couple on the market, USA-spec and iMiv-Volvo http://www.imiv.ca/; search
here http://forums.swedespeed.com/ for "aux in" (or input) and/or ipod and
s80 (yes, I know you do not have an ipod, but that is the main functions of
the adapters).

It's not quite as easy as the prior poster implies, but very do-able.
