Was driving in traffic, suddenly the battery light lit up and then faded out…stuck in traffic, light came on full blast, engine died, coasted in neutral off highway…bought new battery and made it the 60 mile drive home…thought it was alternator…bought new alternator (but did not put in), started her up, rolled the driver window down, and when i tried to shift, found that car was stuck in park and the window would not roll back up…checked and replaced all fuses. Nothing. bad. Alternator tests bad. Don't think all of this is due to the alternator. Anyone ever experience this? help! i live in a small town, my mechanic of 16 years has developed RA and has closed his business.
