    hi

my s80 alarm keeps going off, volvo dealer says nothing wrong when he
checked the fault codes, but it goes off at random, sometimes does not
go off for about 4 days, another time it goes off every hour.

i have checked doors ect are closed correctly, boot and bonnet, the
dealer said may be the internal sensor, but he said that no faults
were logged on the cars computer.
just wondered about the internal sensor, is it heat sensitive, or
    just movement?
and could i permanently disconnect it other than the internal switch.

  2. just replace them...they are "plug & play"..i had the same
    problem...sometimes the
alarm would just go off...folks told me any number of things could
    cause it..we just
replaced the two sensors and everything has been cool now for over 2
    years...there
is one in the headliner, near the dome light, the other one is in the
    trunk...dealer can
    swap them out 4 u...

  4. this same problem drove me and my neighbors mad as well...
it just ain't right...alarms and fancy cars do that to owners...

    ‹(*¿*)›

i have a 200 as well...anyway, i am not sure of the exact location
of the two sensors...i just know it takes the dealer about 10 min
to swap them out...just have the dealer cycle and repalce the 2
sensors...that way your covered 100%....unless you want to dick around
w/them trying to fig out what ones do not work...my time is more
valuable than that...its up to you....good luck !! that fixed the
    problem
for me...you might search on "classic s80s" on the volvo spy web
site, i posed questions a few years ago during my problems and got
some good discussions / chats / and a tip on where to order the parts
over the web so that i did not have to pay the full dealer mark up...

    regards....richard / colorado
