2008 XC70 power-steering problem

Hi All,

Last week my XC70 began having problems with the power steering when I start
the car. Almost half of the time, the power steering pump (I'm guessing)
doesn't start when I start the car. If I turn off the car and re-start it,
things are fine. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Do you know the
cuase (is it the computer or mechanical)?

Sounds like a belt problem. It could be aggravated by a bad PS pump.
 
2008 xc70 Power Steering problem

I have the same Power Steering problem - 1/2 of the time on start up the Steering is hard - My Volvo dealer states that the problem is electronic and that the Power Steering Module needs to be replaced - they stated that this is a know problem.

I haven't replaced it yet looking for more input from people on this Volvo forum ?
