2018 V70 Dash notice charging problem- loud sound

Hi Everyone
I am brand new here while driving my Volvo today a notice came up on the dash it was so quick but said something about "charging"
Then the car started making a loud screeching sound.

Then the car started making a loud screeching sound.

A charging warning plus a loud screech almost always means the drive belt, the belt tensioner, or the alternator pulley. I'd stop driving it until someone looks, because if the belt lets go you lose charging and it can get tangled in other stuff. Did the screech start at the same moment the message popped up?
