Just taken my '98 240 for m.o.t. It failed on holes in cils and
floorpan.

There has been a previous repair about 4 inches from the current hole.
The hole is about an inch long. so, do I give up now or try and get
this repaired. Do I assume that the fact there has been previous repair
may indicate lots of hidden rot?

Located in uk.

what would it cost you to replace it vs cost of repair? Is it worth a few
quid for another year of cheap motoring???

Would be cool if they still made them in other markets... like how VW fans
can see the Mark I and II Golfs still made brand new in South Africa.

1998 Volvo 240:
240 with the Inline 4 from the S40 adapted for rear drive (old style)
unturbo and turbo versions, sedan and wagon... With all the latest safety
gear, plus all that old style stuff everyone loved about the 240.

S/V20, S/V20T I guess it'd be called

Plus since AWD is the rage... a AWD turbo I-5 "R" version with maybe
230-250hp... 6 speed manual with the 6th gear engaged by electric button,
for classicness ;-)
S20R, V20R and XC20 maybe too

Oh and a D5 wagon too - for haulin stuff.

S/V20 D5

If you had enough money i'm sure it could all be done too.

How's the rest of the car? If it looks nice and drives solid then look into
getting it fixed, if you're itching for something else then perhaps it's
time to move on.

Tease.

Oh hell yah.... No one builds a nice bulletproof car that I would actually
want to drive, the "S20" would be sweet.
