3 core radiator

Hi Folks--My '88 245 runs hot with AC on. Has anyone tried replacing the OEM AC (which I believe is 2 core) with a 3-core? My 245 is auto, so I'd have to get a rad set up for manual tranny (no integrated oil cooler) and add a stand-alone tranny oil cooler, which should more than compensate. I'd have to get an barb to flare adaptor to interface the cooler supply lines with the tranny lines--does anyone know the size of those connections? looks to be about 3/8 o r5/16? I can find an AN6 male flare to barb adaptor online, so if the tranny inverted flare line connection (the nut) is 3/8" that would work
