My g/f has a Volvo 440 whose handbrake light stays on permanently - we
can't find the owners manual to troubleshoot this, and the brakes seem
fine - could someone please look up the problem in the manual and get
back to us with the likely problem?

    Thanks

is it loose? try the wires nr the handbreak connecting it to the light?

Find the switch under the handbrake lever and disconnect the wire going
to it. If the light now turns off, then your switch is not adjusted
    properly or defective.
