I enquired on this group as to the whereabouts of my throttle body the other
day, and received the necessary advice. My car wouldn't idle below 1200
rpm, and the adjusting screw had about 1/8 turn between idling and stalling.

I have just stripped and cleaned the throttle body and reassembled it with
new gasket and a new "o" ring in the idle adjust screw. I gave it 10
minutes in a ultrasonic bath, then finished off with cleaner. It was pretty
gunked up. The car now idles right down to less than 500 rpm, but I have
set it to about 900 rpm as per the specifications.

Thanks to all for the original advice.
