Hi. I have an 83 Volvo 244 and I love it. I do a lot of my own work
on it, last week I changed the drive shaft bearing without too much
trouble, except for how dirty I got. I found someone selling a 77
242, and I am want to know what the differences between the 2 are. I
know 2 doors, instead of 4, and a different fuel injection system,
    probably a different engine, 2.1 L, instead of 2.3? Here's what I
love about mine: crank windows, no gadgets whatsoever, no AC, no
cruise control, no heat warmers, no turbo, simple, rear wheel drive,
tough. I live in CA where rust doesn't seem to be much of a problem.
The guy who is selling this 77 says it has 50K on it. He is the 3rd
owner and supposedly the 1st was an old lady who died. It is
surprising how many cars were originally owned by old ladies. So I
dont trust the guy a lot, what should I look for?
