Hello,

I am looking into obtaining an 850 estate (station wagon). I currently
have 3 children under 5, and a fourth on the way. What experience do
people have of accomodating child seats, especially in the 6th and 7th
seats?

Am especially concerned to ensure that what I get will be able to
accomodate 4 child seats as per UK law, and also wondering about the
middle seatbelt, and what sort of child seats work with it.

Thanks!

S.

Our '95 850 wagon has a built-in booster seat built into the rear middle
seat. Our God daughter loves it. My V70 doesn't have this feature
standard. We bought both in the UK but to USA specs.

I am thinking that one of our children (the one who is nearly 5) could
sit on a booster-type seat in the middle... not sure how safe this
is... but what's the alternative?

The rear seats face backwards don't they - do they have lap-type belts?

In the US the demarcation between Child Seats and Booster Seats depends
on the child's weight. The is spelled out at:

f#search=%22%22Child%20Seats%22%20%20%22Booster%20Seats%22%22

The 850 Belt-positioning Booster Seat is for children 40 to 80 lbs.

I have never seen the rear seat factory installed. It does face
backwards and does have seat belts.
