It originally had Bosch K Jetronic fuel injection system but owner swapped it out for a crude makeshift Weber carburetor conversion. As can be seen in the pictures, he used the original FI manifold and fabricated a crude adapter flange for the carburetor. I haven’t even attempted to start it.

My first option is to restore the original fuel injection but the parts are incomplete. I know I will have to find the throttle body, AMM, ICU, ECU, airbox, air pipe, hoses, main engine harness, ignition harness, etc. I am in the Philippines so finding a donor vehicle is not easy. I will have to import from the US. I also have a good running all original 85 240 Wagon with B230F so at least I can have a pattern for reference although it is a different LH 2.2 fuel injection system.

Which leaves me with the other option, to purchase a Weber 32/36 carburetor conversion with Penta manifold available at Amazon and EBay for about $500. Is there anyone who has done this successfully? My other questions are:
    1) How did you manage the fuel system? Did you use the in tank pump and the external pump with a regulator? How did you do the installation?
    2) Did you have to retire the main engine harness and how did you do it?
    3) What did you do for the ICU? ECU?

I’m not expecting anything great from the carburetor conversion. I just want a simple solution and a practical, driveable car. I don’t mind a slight power loss or increase in fuel consumption. Thanks!

    Hello,

I don’t know if this is the correct place to post my question. I have an 89 240 GL, B230F, originally with Jetronic LH 2.4 and Manual M47. Previous owner did a bad job of converting to a Weber carburetor. I want to clean up the installation. I would like to know where I could purchase an engine harness for the carburetor model. I also want to know how the setup is for the ignition control. Is there an ignition control? Which part number? Also, how is the setup for fuel delivery? The original injected version LH 2.4 had an in tank pump and another inline pump providing hi pressure fuel to the EFI system and a return line to the tank. Does the carburetor version have a pump/ regulator? I understand the carburetor needs a higher volume but lower pressure flow.

    Thanks in advance!

Sorry again, originally LH 2.4 Motronic with EZK116. Now I’ve installed the Pearce manifold and a Weber 32/36 DGEV which are part of a brand new conversion kit I bought from Amazon. I replaced the ignition with a 123ignition unit. The inline high pressure main fuel pump under the floor was not used. The in tank pump supplies sufficient volume and pressure for the carburetor. This setup works very well and has very good power and fuel economy. The car can easily maintain 160 kph speed on the highway. I’m very happy with the setup.
