It has a new AMM, new crank pos, sensor..only a few K minles on tha
part.
Just playing with the kickdown adjustment, somehow I went from a good
, smooth-running engine to a dead engine!
THe engine had been running perfectly for months, except for tranny
not going into O/D. When I was making repeated starts last week and
adjusting the kickdown cable, after a few normal start/runs, then when
I started it, I noticed it running rough. Also, it was trying to die,
wouldn't idle so I had to give it lots of gas to keep it going. It
ran rough like this for a couple or three short runs, after this when
I cranked it, it fires like all cyilinders are firing good, yet it
never "catches" and runs. I was only working around the area of the
kickdown cable/throttle body. I thought maybe I bent a vacuum line and
induced a leak.....Guess it could be that. WHat is it suposed to be
when cranking?
I have had the timing jump way out on this car before....however
the alignment mark on cam pulley is still lilned up. I had to repair
that not long ago, the pin had corroded away, so I made new pin out of
a broken drill bit.
I took the damper bolt out and looked at the crank notch and
key....the key is undamaged, still in the notch. So it doesn't look
like the timing has slipped.
Since it just sits there firing but never starting when cranked, I
need to know what vac is supposed to be when cranking...seems like a
good chance that its a vac leak since it seems to be firing good and
timing doesn't seeem to have changed.
