Hello all,
So further to my previous postings, I ended up getting a 960 - with 7
seats, beautifully kept 2.5 CD. Very happy.
However, on the way back from the garage, and yesterday on way to work,
I heard knocking noises from the rear of the car - somewhat reminiscent
of broken CV joints on older cars. On looking at when I got home, it
seems the rear, driver's side is lower than the near-side, and on both
rear wheel clearance from wheel arches is only about 4cm, which seems
low. I am wondering if I need new shocks? I'm not especially
experienced in car maintenance, so I'd probably have to go to a garage,
but was wondering if this sounds likely. Other possibility I thought
was bushings.
Does this sound sensible? Or do you need more information, evidence,
etc? If it was shocks/bushings, what do you think would be a realistic
amount to budget to get it fixed (I am UK-based).
Thanks,
S.
