Assuming you're in the U.S. from your header, lenses for your headlights
aren't available. However you can get real European lenses from certain
dealers that will work (and actually improve!) your lights. Also there
are copy cat aftermarket lenses available from the usual internet parts
sources, that are not quite as good as a brand new original lens, are
still better than no lens at all, and are better than old rock blasted
lenses as well.

in the us Volvo does not sell just the glass but that said you can try your
local automotive recycler to see if there are any Volvos there just purchase
the glass & install your self just held in with spring clips all around
Also try this www.erievovo.com they just deal in Volvos only

You sure?

I'm pretty sure that IPD has recently started selling such items (I know
they listed the reverse lens from the five panel lights in one of their
recent mailings, but not on their web site).

I don't know when the various changeovers happened, but FCP Groton also
sells a whole bunch of 850 lenses.

I sure about both statements I've made, on which one do you need
elaboration?

I believe that IPD sells replacement US-spec lenses.

Right. But they're not original lenses, they're copies of them. Borton
Volvo (and probably other dealers as well) sells euro spec lenses that
will fit on North American spec headlights, at least for the 70 series.

Wouldn't this be a bad idea? Generally the reflector and lense are designed
together as a unit, if you buy the european reflectors too then this will
work great, however I would think euro lenses on a US reflector would be a
very bad idea.

From what I hear the reflectors (and bulbs) are the same on the 70
series.

The way you phrased it originally, I got the impression you meant to imply
no replacement lenses were available whatsoever.

As dodgy as the cheapies may be, they're probably still better than
running around with a cracked or missing lens.

IPD has the lenses for about $80:

http://www.ipdusa.com/ProductsCat.aspx?CategoryID=336&NodeID=380&RootID=629

Eighty bucks versus $10-20, the price of progress I guess.

Anyway, they also used to sell clear acrylic plastic covers for the
headlight assemblies. I got a set for my S70 after noticing a small crack
in my turn signal light. Of course 40,000 miles later, I haven't hit any
more rocks since...

I can't seem to find them on the website, maybe they don't sell them
anymore?

You can find the covers in the Griot's Garage catalog.
