Clean air filter

    After 30,000 miles, my air filter is not dirty;
    Why?
    1994 940 volvo; non turbo

    Probably because you don't drive around in cities where the air is full
    of smoke and dust.

    If air is always being drawn from the pre-heat hose it would be cleaner than
    if it were drawn from the front of the car. There's a flap in the air intake
    system that switches to outside air after the car warms up; check that.
