Read that unplugging the air mass meter and replugging would clean the
contacts and help with general overall good running.

Is there a special procedure that I should follow ?? I do not want to fry my
AMM - just because I should have undone the battery - as an example.

    Thanks,

I was recently told by mechanic that my 945T had bad AMM. Wanted $580 to
R&R. I saw the price from suppliers was $150-200. Looked like about a 15
    minute job.
Unplugged the lead going to the meter and both male and female contacts were
corroded with white flakey film. I used emery paper (wet dry 800 sandpaper)
and cleaned the contacts, sprayed with contact cleaner and reconnected. Now
have about 300 miles without recurrent problem.

    Did you disable the battery?

    Thanks for the reply
