    Hi Scott,

I have a similar problem..... Two Volvo 240 rims have been advertised for
sale for several weeks with few bites and mine have good snow tires. Some
prospective customers have asked if I have the other two.....

I have a theory.................... Most cars on the road now are Front
Wheel Drive, and owners nowadays are wise to the idea that with FWD, snow
tires should be on all four wheels. If they're looking for spare rims for
    snow tires they want four.

I have another theory........ If you and I got together we might have
better luck. Trouble is, I'm on Vancouver Island, BC,
    Canada.......................

    Good Luck anyway.
    Andy I.

: I've had some garaged Volvo 240 wheels up on Craigslist, but nobody seems
: to want them. (The new owner of my old 240 never came to claim them, and
: has since sold the car himself.)
    :
: I hate to discard them if they could be of some use to someone.

Coincidentally I have some Volvo steel rims with worn tires I've been
trying to give away for quite some time. There's just not much demand
for 14" steel rims, most of the millions of 240s made came with them so
the valuable rims are the alloys people are looking for which then
leaves them with spare steelies too.

If you were in the Seattle area I'd be interested in the rims with the
    snow tires though.

I have always run snows on all 4, even RWD 240s.

And, I have 6 rims total, so maybe your 2 would make 8! :)

    Thanks, Andy.

I have 7 x 240 rims in my garage. 4 with tyres and 3 without.
I had 4 without tyres originally ( they came in the boot [trunk in USA ] of
one of the 240's when I bought it ) but I needed one when one of my 240's
developed a leak at the tyre bead due to corrosion of the wheel.
Weighed the leaking rim in with some scrap.

The 4 with tyres I will keep, they were removed from one 240 when I got some
    alloys.
When I sell that car the steels will go back on and I'll use the alloys on,
    probably another 240.

They don't half take up space though, a nice tall tower.
