Idle Control Valve cable issue, faulty connection

    Simple as that, the ICV itself is absolutely new but the contacts on the cable are faulty and the only fix I've heard is to replace the entire electrical harness. I've tried steel wool but the only real fix seems to be to not let off the gas pedal until the ICV starts itself while driving. (basically, manual idle and two-pedaling). I've dealt with the issue for about a year and think it's time to start asking around, as I should have a year ago.

    This is a V6 '87 760 GLE. Sort of off-topic but I've also wondered how many of those were built because it seems to be uncommon.
