740Turbo 1987 will start only by turning ignition key and jerking
transmission selector from N to P simulaneously.
Read on Brickboard it is easily fixed by "crawling under and adjusting
the rod" - What rod could this be and how is it adjusted?
    Thanks!!

They're probably talking about the rod that goes from the lever on the
bottom of the shifter to the lever on the transmission. However, first
make sure the the engine and transmission mounts are in good shape (this
makes sure the transmission is in the right place) and that the
rubber/plastic bushings on that rod are also in good shape.
