Just a general question to the group about the remotes for Volvo cars.
    I have a 2001 S80 that I bought used and I was wondering if I could
get a switchblade style key fob for my car. I have a source to buy a
new one with a key blank in it tha I am told can be cut to my car.
Here's the issue or question I have...Volvo keys have a chip in them
that is tied to the car's remote signal and apparently the rmote
signal changes everytime you use the remote, providing the owner with
another level of security from RF theft. Does anyone know if this
remote unit can be programmed to my car? They only introduced these
integrated key/remote units in the last year or two as I understand
    it. Are they backwards compatible?

Sorry for the long question. Any help or advice is greatly
    appreciated!
