Replace the blocks of my brakes (340/360)

Discussion in 'Volvo 360' started by Luuk Brinkman, Jan 10, 2004.

  1. Hi.

I have to replace the blocks of the brake of the left front wheel from my
very nice Volvo 360 (same brake system as 340).
I actually haven't ever done this before, so I would like to no if anyone
has a sort of a guide what can help me doing this.
    A couple of questions:
-Is there a sequence how to do this,
-do I have to do something with the brake-fluid
-is it necessary to replace also the blocks of my right wheel?
-By what minimum thickness do I also have to replace the brake-disc?

I'll hope that you understand my dutch-english and you can help me!

    Thanks, bye!

Luuk, we have a few experts with 340/360s on the VOC website technical forum.
Have a look and post your query on there.

    Cheers, Peter.

Remove wheel, remove caliper, remove pads, push in piston, check fluid
doesn't overflow, put in new pads, replace caliper and bolts, replace wheel.
    Usual safe practice.
Can't remember says in the manual.
