If your gas door, rear door windows and locks including the 5th door or
trunk lid
lock fail to open or any combination of the above or just the fuel gauge
acts erratic
then the REM, Rear Electronic Module has gone to sleep and will not wake up.
A complete REM reload is needed. Volvo will not pay for this if your cars is
out of the origional factory warranty.

Below is the Tech Net Note.

The above listed functions will return if the REM fuse 1 is removed and

the front door and allow unlocking/locking of the trunk assembly.

If the above description is consistent with a customer complaint, Reload of
the

complete REM system is needed. The software is updated so the REM does not

I had exactly this with my V70 2,4T -01. After updating the software, I
have never experienced any more problems related to doors or fuel cauge
etc. It cost me a whopping 14 euro cents! (Actually Volvo Germany paid
for that!)
