I have a 1999 s80 2.9, For the last year and half I have had problems with the
emissions warning light going on and off ( much more on than off). I have
replaced all 4 emissions sensors and the problem has continued. The ride is
fine and I generally do not have any other problems. IAnyone with similar
    problems or comments?

    Thanks,

    Gene

I have a 2001 S60 2.4T, and recently it has started doing the same thing.
I have 100k miles on it. Its a "soft" code that the ECU is sending, so its
not critical. I had my local shop pull the code from it and they told me
that it was a catalytic converter code.

Instead of replacing sensors, why doesn't the dealer tell you what's wrong
    with it?

By law automakers are required to warrantee emissions systems for a certain
period of time, at least 5 years I think, it's separate from the regular
    vehicle warrantee.

It sounds like Gene's dealer has been avoiding replacing the catalytic
    converter under warrantee.

or he is going to a local shop & not going to the dealer if the cat is bad
it is covered in the us for 8 Years or 80K miles
he should return to the dealer & have this complaint addressed if the cat is
faulty they will replace if it is another component that is @ fault that is
not covered by the federal emissions warranty then he will most likely have
to pay for the repair if he is out of warranty

I had a similar problem, and it turned out to be electronic. My dealership
wanted to replace the entire engine for the tune of $10K. My aftermarket
import specialist fixed it for $2K (including a few other repairs other than
    the electronics).
