I would like to thank the groups members, for your assistance and advice that I gained. For a recap: I own a Volvo 740 gle Estate/Wagon. A 1989 (F reg) manual. And we established that it was a B230e motor with the 'K' jet fuel injection unit. The problem was that when it was started cold, it would run like a bag o crap (misfiring, coughing and farting) Then when it warmed up it ran with no misfires but would not rev past 2500 rpm. Thanks to you guys I narrowed the possibilities right down until I needed specialised equipment to check things. I then put the car in to a fuel injection specialist who diagnosed a cold start valve and dually replaced it. This did not fix the revving out problem however but I believe because my Missus has lead in her boot she managed to thrash the problem out of it. Negating the need for me to purchase a fuel control unit. Thanks again guys. Now my Missus wants another Volvo when we eventually retire this one. Currently on 220,000 miles and showing no signs of waning. Keep up the good work boys.
