I have a 2000 C70 and I love the car. It runs great, and it has 200,000 miles it! I have no issues with the motor or the way it drives. However, about 8 months ago, I was putting the top down, and the short cable broke. So I had to manually close it down. Well with a lot of waiting, I replaced the cables, and repaired everything. But the button still dings when the car is in motion, and I don't get anything from the top at all now, but that stupid annoying ding! It worked fine until the cables broke and I replaced them. So what could it be? Also, I was wondering if you could just bypass the electronic motors and just manually operate the top yourself - it would probably be better I think. Any input would be greatly appreciated thank you.
