Volvo 144s deluxe alternator wiring

    Hey guys I've recently got a volvo 144s as a birthday gift.
    The car drives perfect only problem is I have is with the alternator wiring it isn't charging. And I've done all the basic checks where to remove the positive clip off from the battery head and checked if the alternator is giving off a voltage.
    Yet it still doesn't charge, I don't know what else to do
