    _____
Recent measurements on 1989 240 Volvo Canadian sedan, 5 speed manual
    tranny, 2.3 l B230 engine:
    1) City driving winter - 9.5 to 10.0 km/liter (10.5 to 10.0 l/100km)
    2) Highway driving summer - 12.8 to 13.2 km/liter (7.8 to 7.6 l/100km)

(Note: location is south west BC, fairly mild winters with lowest temps
    around -7 to -8 C for a few days)

Very thanks JCH, it is as I thought, the big engine consumes less...

    Hi David,

    I too have a 240 with the 2.3litre engine, a '93 Wagon with 5-speed manual
    transmission
By coincidence I too live in South West British Columbia, Canada, actually
    on Vancouver Island.
Despite the wagon being somewhat heavier than the sedan of "JCH" (perhaps I
drive with a lighter foot......), but my city/country driving (hardly any
    highway driving) generally uses less than 10 liters/100Km (i.e 10 Km/liter),
often as low as 9.2 litres/100Km or ~11Km/litre

    Your 240 seems much thirstier!
    Andy I.

Yes Andy it is very thirsty, it crosses 7 kilometris of highway with a liter
and 5 or 6 in the street urban, but this is a problem of all the Volvos 240
Sold in Italy, because for the Italian taxes an engine under the 2000cc was
convenient, but the car was heavy and consumed a lot, these old Volvos are
almost all been modified for working with the Gas liquid propane.

    I have the same car....Volvo 240 Polar 93' B200F but it doesn't drink like
    your car:
    LPG 8 km/lit.. Gasoline 9,5 km/lit.

Quite possibly so, but IMHO yours consumes way more than it should in
normal conditions. My 240 saloon consumes less than 8 l/100 km on
mostly countryside at 80 to 100 km/h. It, too, has B200F with M47.

The conversion to propane seems like a good idea, Devid!

Yes Yes, in Italy the price of the propane is around of 0,58 euros ( 0,79
US$) but the price for the gasolina is arround of 1.24 euros (1,70 US
    dollars ) veeeery expensive !!!!

    Cheers: Devid
