    Hey everyone,

My 1993 Volvo 240 wagon's drivers side (left) brake light is stuck on the high beam. This taillight bulb is a dual filament bulb. When the headlamps are on the first filament should be on and when the brake is pressed both filaments should be on. Currently, whenever the headlamps are on both filaments are on. This seems to cause the bulb to to get hotter than it was designed for, and subsequently caused it to melt the plastic in my tail light assembly. Does anyone have any suggestions on why this may be?

    Thank you,
