volvo 440 turbo engine problems

    the other night i went through a puddle and my car started to pop and
    bang. when i started it in the morning it was still a bit bangy but
    after about 5 mins the car filled up with smoke and smoke was coming
    out the engine bay and the engine is now clanging. can any body help
    please

  2. I am hoping the engine didn't suck water and hydraulic lock. A compression
    test - a DIY test with the plugs out and cranking the engine is good
    enough - will determine whether to look farther. The cylinders should be
    within 10% of each other.
