Hi All,
I've had problems with my 740 popping off a vacuum hose between the inlet manifold and the idle valve upon start-up which means the car won't idle until the hose is reconnected. This occurs in the wet and I was told by the RAC repairman it was due to the engine missfiring and I should hose down the cables spouting from top of the distributor (?) with WD40 and so far this has worked. Is there something else I can do other than use a can-full of WD40 at the first drop of rain?
