    Hello,

Afer using a 10% blend of ethanol in a 1997 Volvo, the fuel-pump began
making a whining noise. A whining noise may indicate that the
fuel-pump is about to fail, yet my mechanic found that the
fuel-pressure was normal at this time. Can ethanol-blended gasoline
    cause fule-pumps to fail?

    Thank-you
