  2. All Volvo dealers handle TDS (European Delivery). I have purchased 6 of
my 11 Volvos through European Delivery.

    1) make sure your dealer has handled TDS before. Don't be on their
    learning curve.

    2) start well ahead of time. TDS gets the exact car you want with
exactly the options you want or don't want. For example, I got an XC
with Shiftronic but not a sun roof or leather. These options were not
available on vehicles sent to local dealers. They also get the license
plates, registration and insurance. They also pay any duty and arrange
home shipment. This all takes time. Don't rush the process.

    3) we have our cars sent to Baltimore. It takes 2 or 3 weeks to get our
cars from the time we drop them off.

We have picked up cars at Goteborg and London (Hatfield). They both
have great pickup centers. They have nice accessory stores.

I got free home shipment, a free plane ticket and a free hotel room and
saved about 10% on the car. Great deal!

We did this a year ago with our V70 T5. Picked it up in Göteborg and drove
it around Sweden. Delivered it back to the factory for shipment back to US.
Picked it up at a local dealer. Everything went very well. Got the free
airline tickets, night in a hotel, and saved about 10% off the list price.
    Would recommend process.

I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
    Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.
