2006 S40 lost instrument cluster power!!

I have lost all power to the instrument cluster,but everything works on the outside of the car lights indicators etc.

The only thing that works on the instrument cluster is the orange engine management light when I turn the ignition on!!

Any ideas as to what the fault could be?

bizarre....I've just been out to the car to see if theirs anything obvious, but every thing seemed to be working ok now.

Not sure if that's a good thing or not, an intermittent fault is probably hard to find!
