Hi Gang,
My 1990 240 turn signals stopped working after hearing loud buzzing. I
assume I need to replace my flasher unit, like this one:
http://shop.volvopartstore.com/?make=VO&year=1990
I'm not sure where to look for the Flasher Relay. Is it behind the
speedometer or center console? How do I get into the center console if
that's the area?
Thanks much,
Jay

If it's the same as an '82 240, the flasher is behind the center console on
the left hand side near the heater control.

It should be behind the centre dash on RHD cars it is on the left side and
if you take off the side panel you should see it. the unit is on the front
clipped to the support beam.

Slacken the phillips screw, upper left side of the center console. Remove
the 1/4 lock fastener right below it. Pull the panel away from the center
console frame and the attachment bracket at the firewall. The flasher is
clipped to the frame behind the center console. You'll find a nasty
spring metal "death clip" crushing the relay housing. Throw it away when
you install the new relay.
